A number of local authorities in the Yorkshire and Humber region are seeking to commission an integrated sexual health service. There's an information event in June 2013 for any organisations who are interested.

A number of local authorities in the Yorkshire and Humber region are seeking to commission an integrated sexual health service for their authority area, which combines GUM (Genito-Urinary Medicine) and CASH (Contraception And Sexual Health) services. This includes Leeds City Council, Wakefield Metropolitan District Council and Kirklees Council (with Bradford Metropolitan District Council and Calderdale Council already commissioning an integrated sexual health service). All of these authorities are currently exploring a regional approach to re-commissioning this service.

This approach to the integration of sexual health services responds to national direction from the Department of Health and aims to provide a high quality, accessible, holistic service, which meets the needs of local people with triage to required level of care. Different levels of service will be provided in both central hubs and in community settings, with prevention as a key priority. The service will provide a leadership role in sexual health within the local area and work with all other relevant clinical and non-clinical sexual health and healthcare providers.

We would like to share with you our vision for the future of integrated sexual health services, receive your views and comments on the market’s capacity and different approaches to delivering this model, and explore the impact, benefits and practicality of a regional approach.

We invite all interested parties to a Stakeholder Information Event on 20th June 2013 from 11am to 1pm at:

Banqueting Suite

Leeds Civic Hall

Calverly Street

Leeds

LS1 1UR

To book places at the event and for queries, please contact Miriam Browne on 07891 275893. Further information about the integrated service model is provided in a background document on YORtender (please register to access this). To view the background document, please input the specific Scheme ID number: YORE-979L3Q.

If you need help in registering on YORtender or accessing the document, please contact the YORtender helpdesk on 0844-5434580.

To apply for a coaching subsidy, please email Fiona Hall at The Federation of Disability Sports Organisations: fhall@fdso.co.uk with the following details:
