About The Author

Chris Chinnock

Im passionate about Social Enterprise!!! im lucky enough to be able to put that passion into practice through my work and im currenlty doing this through a Social Enterprise project at Kirklees Council. I'm going to use this site to share loads of interesting and (hopefully) useful information with you whether its business planning, information on setting up and running a Social Enterprise, things like latest developments and changes in Policy as well as links to other useful sites and organisations. I've got over 10 years experience in and around the Social Enterprise Sector having worked at a number of levels from project delivery through to Directorship in a number of Social Enterprises, I also ran my own Social Enterprise consultancy business for 3 years. In 2004 i won the Social Enterprise of the Year award in the 'on the up' category as part of the management team for a local Social Enterprise. In 2008 i obtained Masters degree in Social Entrepreneurship from the university of Huddersfield and have published articles on the Social Enterprise for academic journals. I hope you find the information useful - have a look and see what else you can find on the site.

  1. Unfortunately i wasn’t aware of the workshop in July. I am working with young, profoundly disabled adults at a Residential school/trust in Mirfield. We are looking at various enterprising activities and have an idea for a social enterprise business. Is there any way I could meet or get to share ideas with someone? We would also be looking for a grant at some time to enable us to expand our ideas.
I would be grateful for any contacts!
